Implants
Dental implants provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. No more need to deal with uncomfortable dentures or bridges—with permanent dental implants, a person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat and smile with effortless confidence.
Dental implants are surgically implanted in the jaw to provide a comfortable, secure fit and a natural look. Implants can support replacements for one tooth, several teeth, or even all of the teeth. Dental implants deliver outstanding results in both appearance and function of the new teeth.

Why do I need a dental implant?
The healthiest solution after losing a tooth is prompt replacement. Without it, you may experience difficulties with biting, chewing, and speaking—as well as headaches, muscle tension, jawbone loss, and aesthetic concerns. Dental implants offer a long-term, natural-looking solution that restores full function while preserving bone density and your facial structure.
Dental implants act as a stable foundation for various tooth-replacement options, including bridges, dentures, and single-tooth restorations. In many cases, patients with gum recession or infection may also require gum surgery prior to implant placement to ensure optimal healing and long-term success. Replacing missing teeth with implants not only enhances your smile but also supports your oral health from the roots up.

How do dental implants work?
The dental implants themselves are titanium cylinders that are surgically implanted in the jawbone where the missing teeth were rooted. Over time, the titanium bonds with the bone, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth.
Small posts are then attached to the implant. Protruding through the gums, these posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
How long does the dental implantation process take?

Once the implants have healed, the natural-looking replacement teeth, crowns, bridges or dentures are fitted and installed on the posts.
Dental implant surgery may be performed in an office or hospital with local or general anesthesia.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?

The number-one requirement for dental implants is sufficient, strong bone in the area beneath the missing teeth. Without enough bone, the implants will not be able to take hold in the jaw.
If you do not have the bone necessary for dental implants, Dr. Asaf may recommend bone grafting—removing bone from elsewhere in the mouth or from the hip, or using artificial bone, and placing it in the jaw until it grows into the natural bone—as a first step in the dental implant process.
When Do You Need Dental Implants?
Dental implants may be necessary in various situations related to tooth loss and oral restoration. Here are some common scenarios when you might need dental implants:
1. Missing Teeth Replacement
If you’ve lost one or more teeth due to injury, decay, or gum disease, dental implants provide a permanent solution to restore your smile and oral function.
2. Denture Stabilization
When traditional dentures are uncomfortable or unstable, implant-supported dentures can offer improved comfort, speech, and chewing ability without the need for adhesives.
3. Bone Loss Prevention
Following tooth extraction, the underlying jawbone can deteriorate over time. Dental implants stimulate bone growth and help preserve facial structure and prevent further bone loss.
4. Single Tooth Restoration
When a single tooth is missing and you want to avoid compromising adjacent healthy teeth (as with traditional bridges), a dental implant provides an independent, long-lasting solution.
5. Full-Arch Reconstruction
For patients missing most or all of their teeth, full-arch implant solutions like All-on-4® or implant-supported bridges can restore complete function with fewer implants than individual replacements.

Patient Stories
What Our Patient are Saying
Another great visit at Dr Asaf. I have been coming in over 10 years now. Both my siblings and I. What I love is that they don't try upselling me on deep cleanings Iike other places. I can tell they take their time and my fillings feel secure.

By far, like, multiple leaps and bounds, the best dental experience I've ever had. I called last night at 9pm for an emergency root canal and I was in the chair less than 12 hours later. Dr. Asaf is an absolute master as what he does.

They saved my life today! I called for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction, I live in DTLA and made the drive. They were so sweet and accommodating plus the best part I didn't have any pain and I'm not that brave when I go to the dentist because of that so thank you everyone here!

Amazing dentist! Everyone there is so sweet! He's honest! Doesn't push you to do things you don't need. Gentle when doing the work and knows what he is doing. I usually dread the dentist, but the vibes there are just different and more relaxed. There is no pressure involved like other dentists. Glad we found him!! Also, Malka who runs the office is extremely kind and very helpful!!

Post-Surgery Care Tips for a Faster Recovery
Here are some post-surgery care tips to help ensure a faster and smoother recovery:
Follow Your Dentist’s Instructions
Adhere to any specific post-operative care instructions provided by your dentist or oral surgeon. This may include guidelines on diet, medication, and activity restrictions.
Manage Pain and Discomfort
Take prescribed pain medications as directed. Over-the-counter pain relievers may also be recommended. Use ice packs on the outside of your face to reduce swelling and discomfort.
Rest and Relax
Give your body time to heal by getting plenty of rest. Avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for a few days post-surgery.
Maintain Oral Hygiene
Keep your mouth clean to prevent infection. Gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water after 24 hours, but avoid vigorous rinsing. Continue brushing your teeth, but be careful around the surgical site.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of fluids, but avoid using straws for the first few days, as the suction can dislodge blood clots and delay healing.
Eat Soft Foods
Stick to a soft diet for the first few days. Foods like yogurt, applesauce, mashed potatoes, and smoothies are good options. Avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods that could irritate the surgical site.
Avoid Smoking and Alcohol
Refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol, as these can hinder the healing process and increase the risk of complications.
Watch for Signs of Infection
Be alert for symptoms such as increased pain, swelling, fever, or pus discharge. If you notice any of these signs, contact your dentist or oral surgeon immediately.
Attend Follow-Up Appointments
Keep all scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and address any concerns.
Be Patient
Recovery times can vary depending on the type of surgery and individual health factors. Be patient with yourself and allow your body the time it needs to heal.
By following these tips, you can help facilitate a quicker and more effective recovery after oral surgery. Always consult with your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns during your recovery process.
